About: Join us from the safety and comfort of your own car for an hour of musical hits by Citadel performers from across the years - guaranteed fun for the whole family to benefit Citadel Theatre! Sound will be transmitted through your car radio ensuring you and your family’s safety during these times of social distancing. All proceeds will go to helping Citadel Theatre keep the performing arts alive in Lake Forest.

Tickets MUST be booked in advance - limited parking spots available. Only ONE ticket per vehicle needed! You MUST show your confirmation email to the attendant when you arrive (no need to open your window). The attendant will then give you a radio station to tune into where the sound of the show will be transmitted.

When you arrive at the Gorton Community Center (400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest), please enter the parking lot through the Illinois Road entrance and exit through the McKinley Road exit.

Please note: The Gorton Community Center building will NOT be open, therefore there will be no access to restrooms.


Tom Colao, Musical Director

Thomas Colao enjoys a diverse musical career as an organist, conductor, and classical singer. He currently holds the post of Assistant Director of Music & Organist at St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church in Chicago, where he helps to lead all aspects of the church’s renowned sacred music program, including overseeing the Children’s Chorister program, assisting in the direction of the professional Choir of St. Chrysostom’s Church as well as the volunteer Parish Choir, and playing the church’s landmark organ, Fisk Op. 123, in worship services and recital programs. From 2010 - 2018, he served as Director of Music & Organist at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Princeton, where he oversaw all aspects of the church’s active music ministry, including a re-built Children’s Chorister program as well as one of the premier Adult Choir programs in New Jersey. During this time, he also served as Associate Conductor of the Continuo Arts Foundation in Summit, NJ; as Music Director for then-Princeton based Opera MODO; and as accompanist for the Princeton Pro Musica symphonic chorus. Mr. Colao maintains an active schedule as an organ recitalist and collaborative pianist, and also serves as Choral Accompanist for the Hoffman Estates High School choral program. As a professional choral artist, he has spent 10 seasons on the roster of the Grammy®-nominated Kinnara Ensemble, based in Princeton and Atlanta (for which he has also served as accompanist), and also has appeared with the choral ensemble Brevitas, based in Salt Lake City. Mr. Colao attended the Mannes College of Music, where he studied choral conducting with Mark Shapiro and vocal performance with Beth Roberts, as well as Westminster Choir College, where he studied organ with Matthew Lewis, and was a member of the renowned Westminster Choir, serving as a singer and accompanist on two national tours, and appearing with the Choir at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, where he made his professional operatic debut as ‘Le Chansonnier’ in Charpentier’s Louise. Colao holds the certificate of Associate of the American Guild of Organists, which he received in 2016. In his spare time, he enjoys composing and arranging for choirs and instruments, and is also an avid outdoorsman.
