"Mike and I saw a wonderful, moving production of Dickens' timeless, classic "A Christmas Carol." This version, a new adaptation with brilliant new songs by Douglas Post, is called "Scrooge and The Ghostly Spirits.”

Remaining faithful to the original story, Citadel's production is quick, witty, and emotionally effective, making this one and a half hour show, with no intermission, fast-moving, and it leaves nothing out. Since it is shorter, it's very family-friendly, and perfect for children who like short shows.

The songs are beautiful, and remain in your memory long after, proving Post is a brilliant songwriter, composer, and lyricist.

Also, I love that Citadel uses a small theater, making every seat a great seat, pulling you into the sweet, intimacy of the great acting and singing, moving you with every facial expression, wonderfully directed by Scott Phelps.

This Christmas classic, of Scrooge's magical change of heart, never ages, and these new songs are sent by guardian angels and three ghostly spirits that will warm your heart with goodwill and generosity. See this if you can. It's not a far drive to 60 and Waukegan in Lake Forest, and there's plenty of parking. Now playing through December 23rd!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Peace, Love, and Warmest Wishes, Ruben and Mike." - Ruben Santos Claveria
