Program Overview

Our programs are designed to be performance based, and taught by industry professionals. Throughout each program, students will learn audition techniques, rehearsal processes, acting techniques, singing techniques & dance. Along with discovering their journey as an actor, students will have the opportunity to participate in technical elements of their show if they wish. At the conclusion of program, students will have a weekend of performances.

Show Overview

Set in 1958, Bye Bye Birdie follows rock-and-roll idol Conrad Birdie, who is drafted into the US Army. His manager, Albert, and secretary, Rosie, arrange a publicity stunt. Conrad will give a televised farewell kiss to a fan, Kim MacAfee, on The Ed Sullivan Show, causing chaos in a small Ohio town.


Average Camp Day

  • 9am-9:45am: Drop off/warm ups

  • 9:45am-12pm:Show Rehearsal

  • 12pm-12:45pm: Lunch/Free Time

  • 12:45pm-3pm: Rehearsals/Activities

 

We Provide

  • A camp t-shirt

  • Professional headshots, taken on a designated camp day and displayed at final performances

What to Bring

  • A nut-free lunch and snacks (light snacks available for purchase)

  • A water bottle

 

Showcase Information

  • We are a noncompetitive camp, which means you do not have to audition to be part of our program. However students do audition for roles in the shows they are participating in. We do practice auditions before they actually audition, so not to worry we will make sure they are as prepared as possible for their audition while teaching them audition techniques!

  • Every student is in the show.

  • Options to participate in tech elements for their show.

  • Last week of camp (tech week) and Showcase production performed on Citadel’s Main Stage: Lake Forest Administrations Building 300 Waukeagan Rd; Lake Forest, IL 60045

Showcase Tickets

  • 3 performances for each camp (more will be added if needed)

  • Ticketing info for the showcase performance is released the first week of the program, after casting.

  • 2 comp tickets per student for the run of the show

Refund Policy

$100 Non-refundable deposit for each camp is required. As long as camp is cancelled 2 weeks prior to camp you will receive a refund for the remaining balance after the deposit. If you cancel camp within the first 3 days, it will be a prorated refund based on materials and expenses for the days attended. If cancelled after the 3rd day of camp, no refunds will be issued for the camp.
