Monday Night Playreading Series October 27 and November 24, 2008 7:00 P.M.
Where are you going to see plays about the New York art world, urban legends, medical malpractice, infertility, con artists, and tarot-card reading girlfriends?
Where can you sip and sup on some of the finest cuisine on the North Shore, while rubbing elbows with actors, students, writers, directors and theatre lovers talking about art, life, theatre and the meaning of it all?
The Monday Night Playreading Series was created as a tool to assist playwrights in the development of their work. Featuring professional actors and directors from the large Chicago area talent pool, the writer and audience get to experience a new piece of theatre spoken aloud for the very first time. In post-reading discussion, the audience is not only open to ask questions and voice opinions but is encouraged to do so. A fun, provocative, entertaining way to spend an evening is made even more satisfying by the opportunity to dine before the reading or enjoy drinks and appetizers in the bar afterwards, continuing the lively debate that always ensues.
